We had another fantastic adventure! This time we made our way to the ghost town of Goldfield, Nevada, and it did not disappoint. It was a 2 hr 45 minute journey north (from North Las Vegas) to Goldfield and Tonopah and we saw some amazing sights!

We traveled through Goldfield initially, and headed straight to Tonopah and enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Tonopah Brewing Company. Service was top notch, and my pulled pork BBQ salad was exactly what I needed to fuel our the hours of exploring we were about to embark on. Before we made our way back to Goldfield, we visited both The Clown Motel (if you have a fear of clowns, this is not the place to visit!), and then walked the grounds of Tonopah's first cemetery started in 1901 where over 300 bodies are buried. Some of those buried there are victims of the "Tonopah plague" and the Tonopah-Belmont Mine Fire in 1911. It is a haunting open space with detailed, hand hammered plaques denoting how people passed.

After a quick gas stop, we traveled 30 miles back toward Goldfield, parked the Jeep and walked the town. It was as if Goldfield is frozen in time. We toured the Goldfield Hotel,

where rumors abound it is haunted. However, after peering in the windows and standing on the grounds it felt nothing but peaceful—especially knowing that the town is looking to restore the hotel to its original brilliance.

There was so much to see, experience, and the ability to get UP CLOSE to old homes, vintage vehicles and indulge in the history of the town made it incredibly touching and memorable. Check out the video at the end of this blog for some first hand footage that will make you feel like you came along for ride.

Lastly, on our way home, we made a pit stop when spotted The Big Dune sign on the highway and the sun setting on the sand dunes off the side of the highway. Little did we know we would end up in a Matt's Off-Road Recovery moment!

So inspired by the exhilaration of it all, Lou actually stepped up and got comfortable on camera...so tune in to the end as we make our debut awkwardly speaking to YOU via the magical world of YouTube filming!

Until next time, adventure on!
